Her skin was buttermilk soft nestled in his neck,
as she lay there trying to imitate his breathing.
Thoughts float in the breeze from one subject to the next.
Curtains rustle and windchimes sing.
Frogs and crickets conduct a symphony.
A velvet sky holds priceless diamonds,
that an unknown jeweler has placed there.
The universe smiles and nods in approval.

Tina, I love this poem, especially the ending--the unknown jeweler and the universe smiling in approval. Great work!!!
So beautifully romantic!
Wonderful, tender, the moment captured like being there and strangely even though she is not described at all, one gets a sense of who she is, gorgeously beautiful.
Sometimes the afterglow far outweighs all else. Beautiful and profound...
i love the opening verses, so human, so easily imagined the way you express this moment. Nice poem for a June evening.
A beautiful vignette, Tina, really moved me.
beautiful description of a sweet, cool June evening...
Your poetry is very gentle, I was moved by the tribute
Stacey 2.
Ahh, that is nice to see more people reading your beautiful poems, Tina. I read this one again and it is exquisite, there is something truely magical in it that I can't quite see, behind the poem, it is gorgeous,
Thank you all so much for the kind comments. :)

A beautiful poem that captures the breathtaking moment of realising a love. I'm glad Paul highlighted this... a wonderful thing to read on a Sunday morning... I read it as his music started and it fitted perfectly with the intro.
coming by way of paul's link, it is a beauty of poem.. those wonderful moments under cover od darkness... trying to imitate his breathing ..priceless...
love all the images in this. great tone and delivery.
Hi Tina, your poetry is beautiful, and this to me is the best of all. Have you tried submitting to Bottle of Smoke Press? They do beautiful work and I'll bet Bill Roberts would love your stuff. They're at bospress.com, and please tell Bill that Harry Calhoun sent you. Again, I really like your work.
Thanks a million Harry! Will definitely check it out.
